Pilates Classes
At Pilates Oxford I offer pilates classes in Headington, Oxford. The classes are kept small and are for mixed abilities, so no matter what your age or fitness level, the class will be tailored to suit your needs.
As a physiotherapist I am able use my knowledge and expertise to bespoke exercise for all abilities. All the pilates classes provide progressions to help you build on your ability week on week. Like with all forms of exercises it can take a while to perfect the technique and feel the benefits.
Individual sessions
As a chartered physiotherapist and pilates instructor, I am able to offer individual or small group sessions in Headington.
These sessions are suitable if you do not feel comfortable starting pilates within a group, or if you have a medical condition that requires dedicated physiotherapy assessment.
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your individual requirements.
Prior to attending the class for the first time, a short medical form must be completed, and an assessment will be carried out to review your needs and to discuss what you aim to achieve from the class. During the assessment I will review your musculoskeletal system and run through the basic pilates movements. This assessment will cost £20.
In-person classes
These in person class are suitable for all levels, ages and abilities and will strengthen your pelvic floor, core and back, whilst helping to improve posture.
The class size is kept to a maximum of 12. With this small class size, I am able to give a selection of difficulty levels for each exercise and these can be adapted to suit an individual’s needs and ability. The exercise class changes regularly to help provide variety and a continual challenge.
This is a matwork based class lasting 55 minutes. The class will:
- Concentrate on your core
- Provide exercise for the whole body
- Strengthen both upper and lower limbs
- Work to improve posture, balance, and coordination
In some classes we will use small equipment to provide variety and additional resistance training. All additional equipment is provided but please bring an exercise mat if you have one. It is recommended that you wear clothes that are comfortable and do not restrict movement.
As the classes are limited in size, it is necessary to contact me to book your place in the class. At the time of booking, it is possible for up to 2 weeks of holiday to be requested within the block.
